Autumn Song by Glasiel
I stand alone upon the lea,
The Autumn woods surrounding me
Gazing at the clear blue sky -
Above me soars a gull, on high.

Suddenly, my thoughts take wing,
I watch him lazily circling
Forgetting leaves that dry and fade
Around me in my lonely glade.

But now he's done with his display.
He makes his mind up not to stay.
And with one final, taunting cry
He flies into the Western sky.

"Tempter! Wilt thou leave me lonely -
Stranded here with memories only;
Dreaming of the distant shore
And then beyond, to Valinor?"

No answer gives he to my question
But off he flies, without digression.
And I am left, alone to stand
And watch the leaves fall on the land.
