Aftermath: Rhunedhel

But Rhunedhel swore, and swore in blood
That if there were any way that he could
He would capture the villain and bring him to vengeance
Or at least to a court and the hobbits' justice.

But the villain has fled to a distant land
Far from the reach of Rhunedhel's hand.
And he knows (unlike Clip) one vital lesson:
Not to risk his life for a moment of passion.

O Eru, Iluvatar, bright distant Lord,
Clip's and the murderer's lives both are yours.
Remember, bright Lord, Clip's red blood crying
From the shuddering earth as he lay there dying.

And yet I will trust that beyond the veil
Of these mortal lands where evil prevails
That Clip still lives and laughs and loves
And sings with the Ainur in your presence above.
