Home

So home he wandered - homeward he walked -
And when he returned the hobbits all talked:
'A bold enough fellow, who's done rather well,'
But shaking their heads, they sighed, 'Well, well, well,'

'But what's the use tramping in foreign parts?
If dwarves like pipeweed - a fine enough art -
Let them come here and buy it like civilized folk,
Why traipse through some wild land to bring them their toke?

But Clip gathered pipeweed to store on his farm -
Bolder than ever since he'd come to no harm -
And bought him a wagon to carry his stash,
And whistled quite gaily with spirit and dash.
