To Lorien

A Lorien! Whose dreams are sweet
Whose visions like memories greet
Us in the silence of the night
If only we could see again the light
Of the Two Trees in Valinor

Yet we can only see it from afar
We exiles on this hither shore.

But ancient light is now a star
Conveyed above us as a sign
And all its blessing bounties shine
Upon this land beneath the trees,
This Middle Earth beyond the seas.

A Lorien! If only all your dreams
Were more than visions in the night
And we could walk again in blending light
. But I will bless you for your grace
To grant us visions though we never see your face!
